Fresh Android Apps for Aug. 2: Lemon.com Wallet, SeatGuru, Smart Stay Ex

Thursdays Fresh Apps selection kicks off with Lemon.com Wallet, a mobile wallet solution which turns your Android device into a digital back-up of your real-life wallet. Next up is SeatGuru which can help seasoned travelers ensure they get the best seats on a variety of different commercial airlines. Finally, theres Smart Stay Ex Lite, an app that matches the capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S III Smart Stay function.

Lemon.com Wallet (Free)

Lemon is a mobile wallet platform, and they just released a dedicated Android app for their service on Google Play. The app, which is only for devices running Android 4 and above, sits alongside competitors like Square and Google Wallet (which received a big update yesterday to accept all types of credit card), but adds a few useful extra features.

The Lemon.com Wallet app turns your Android into a digital back-up of your real wallet. It organizes and stores your cards, receipts, coupons and more, so you can access what you need more easily. Also, you can use the digitized information the app provides to see how youre spending your money.

SeatGuru by TripAdvisor (Free)

The popular website, which lets you view the best airplane seats on most airlines and many of their individual aircraft, has now been optimized for your Android smartphone. The app also packs in a flight tracker and offers the ability to book flights directly.

The free app lets you access over 700 seat maps from nearly 100 airlines. It features advice and insight drawn from over 45,000 passenger reviews, so you can always find the best seat before you fly. You can also shop for low airfares from carriers, online travel agencies and the airlines themselves.

Smart Stay Ex Lite (Free)

Thanks to some clever folks over at XDAdevelopers, your Android device can now demonstrate some of the capabilities we briefly touched on in our review of the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone, namely its Smart Stay function.

Basically, the app uses the front camera to detect when youre viewing the screen and it will keep the display on without timing out. If not, it shuts off the display to save battery life.The developers recommend you try out this free version first before ponying up for the full version ($1.00 and a few extra options) just in case your Android device isnt compatible.
